Do your raw grades at University get scaled or aligned or anything, or do they stay as a raw mark for your final grade? Also, why is the symbol for a fail grade FF, and not just an F:confused:?

I don't know about other unis but at UWS they scale the final marks based on how well you perform in the final exam....they probably do this cause the courses are taught over a no. of campuses....
I'm not sure if this is an advantage??!

FF means fucken failed!!! :p

AT ANU they scale the marks so a certain percentage of people get HDs, Ds, Cs and Ps. They don't have a quota on fails though !

This is what I was talking about. So the marks are allocated to a bell curve:).

As far as I know, all unis use the bell curve, its a universal thing across the world, and it also used to be used for the HSC

Ah, how?
Most people enter a unit with the same number of units under their belt ,so I cannot see 'older' students are advantaged in any way.
