Hmm... Under my curiousity, i was wondering, under what conditions do you have to be under to travel to univeristies free (under public transport)?

With that being said, for a citizen aged under 18 years old, would he/she be able to travel free under public transport?

how about over18s? any age restrictions which travelling under public transports to/from universities for free would be under concern?

cheers

You don't get free travel on public transport to uni, no matter what age you are. You get student concession, but not free.

Yep, your student ID card works as a concession card, and you'll get that when you enrol.

It doesn't matter how far away you live or how you travel, because you can use a student concession whether you are travelling to UNI or not. Everyone would get the same deal.

I don't think thats true. I have friends that have to drive over an hour each way, and they don't get anything. If there is such a payment, I'd say it is based on more than just how long it takes you to travel...

There is some sort of subsidy that I read about, but this one was for parents dropping their kids off to school, and it was for mostly rural areas where public transport is not readily available.

yeah, geez, i wish, i only live 40 km's away from uni and it takes me an hour and a half each way. I think if there was a subsidy, almost everyone would be eligible for it.
