What's this?

And is it subject to the DET filter? If so, it's automatically useless.

myUNSW:

IT at UNSW has upgraded the UniWide wireless service. This upgrade provides significant improvements over the old service but will require a new method of accessing the service.

The new UniWide service provides higher levels of security, has no access or usage charges and is accessible to a range of mobile devices.

From Monday the 25th February 2008 the current method, which requires you to access the service via a VPN utility will be disabled. You will no longer be able to access UniWide via the VPN utility. Instead you will need to configure your laptop manually to access the new service. You may also need to perform a simple UniPass reset before using the service.

Instructions on how to set up your laptop to access the new UniWide service and how to reset your UniPass are available at the following location:

www.it.unsw.edu.au/uniwide/

Please contact the IT Service Desk at servicedesk@unsw.edu.au if you have any questions or require assistance.
