How unsimplified?

For the second part I factorised it (found 10C9 etc)

Was this to "simplified"?

I think that so long as whatever you wrote evaluates to the correct answer then you'll get the mark. Since 'simple' is a relative term, they must apply the same rule to all extents to maintain consistency

If it's any consolation, you'll probably get a mark in the second part for the working out... and they may not mark you down for repeated errors.
