Hi.
So I haven't really taken the bus before and there's something I'd like to find out about.

I've purchased a MyMulti1 ticket. Do I need to dip it into the green machines? So far I have just been walking past it however a friend told me that I was meant to.

It seems unnecessary as the multi ticket should provide unlimited bus use.

nah the ticket machines are just there for decorations

obv its to record traffic in order to decide whether we need more buses or not.

Haha thanks for the replies. I know they're not there as decoration but it seemed logical that it was only there for holders of tickets like the single and travel tens.
Well I guess if its just for records a few lazy people wouldn't upset them too much :p

So far the buses have been turning up quite often so I wasn't aware of a massive wait. I guess I'll just swipe it whenever i pass then.

for 9am classes, what time do you recommend getting to the back of the long queue for the buses? 8:30?

There's a long queue? Then again, I get the bus at about 8:10-ish.

Anyone notice the 891 buses seem to be coming more infrequently?

@sinophile: no idea but I wouldn't be surprised. I was wondering actually, if the uni paid Sydney Buses to run the 891/895? I thought it'd be a real push and shove affair to get onto the buses (even worse than USYD actually). I must've looked like such an idiot running for the bus the first few times.

It is. At 8:40am the line for the bus stretches from the bus stop to the fucking crossing under the sandstone bridge.

That line is for tools who don't realize that by literally walking an extra 200 m onto Elizabeth st, they can board the same bus 1 stop earlier and thus avoid queues.

That line is only... 25 minutes long. I know, I've been there myself <_<

You'd think it'd be smarter to keep taking the train to St James and just catching a 39x or even possibly an L94, which only stops a few times along the way to uni. Or would that be worse?
