It's funny how all these Australian institutions have a reduced atar equivalent for internationals (atleast 5 points lower than domestic), yet all these overseas institutions hold international applicants at a much higher standard than their domestic applicants. (requiring you to be above top 2% of your region)

USyd and UNSW think a 1240 SAT (piss fucking easy exam btw) is worth the same as a 85 atar.

do you realise how fucking dumb you have to be to get a 1240 SAT?

1240 SAT is literally fucking awful, it means you couldn't do fucking simple maths and basic reading, grammar and punctuation at all - most likely due to low IQ more than anything else.

UNSW also thinks 1370 out of 1600 SAT is good enough for Medicine (1370 is only 91st percentile of ALL test takers in the US according to CollegeBoard)



I'm sure almost all of you can get higher than 1370 on first try: https://bluebook.collegeboard.org/students

1370 SAT doesn't even hold up to US colleges of similar rank to usyd (qs rank 25th) and unsw (qs rank 20th) (brown university qs rank 69th - average SAT score 1540 out of 1600).

Well isn’t that depressing to think about? That goes to show how bad the general education system is in America than anything and honestly if you need the equivalent of an 85 atar effort to get such a low score shows more about how unready the student is for uni. Regardless, those who actually use the SAT to obtain admission into Australian universities are mostly American from what I can understand and I don’t think they make up majority of international students here, if anything they’re more like large piggy banks for the universities.

you have to know content to get an 85 atar in australia. You can literally common sense your way to well above 1240 or 1370 in SAT first try...

to be fair ion think the rankings are necessarily indicative of how hard it is to get in

UNSW/USYD are way easier to get into than brown; brown is literally an ivy league
1370 is actual buns tho idk how that's good enough for medicine

American internationals are almost always higher quality than Indian or Chinese since they can atleast speak English

the Indian and Chinese people who come to Australia for university are actually too dumb for their own country, US or UK. Australia being the liver system it is takes in low quality internationals. Wheras UK and US take in high quality internationals.

These retards who do the admissions literally don't know what they are doing.
They also gave fucking selection rank points for band 6 or 5 English Advanced for engineering, thank god they got rid of it this year though.
English Advanced isn't relevant to engineering any more than math standard (a subject which isn't given points at all)

A MASSIVE UPDATE!!!!! Australian Govt just Moved INDIA to level 2 in Immigration that means INDIANS will NOT need to pass basic English test (IELTS/PTE) or Even show Funding to support their stay and studies in Australia which they previously needed to show around 50,000 AUD. In 2024, Over 1 Million Indians moved to Australia, That is when it was hard to Migrate to Australia when People had to collect funds and pass BASIC ENGLISH PROFIECIENCY TEST. But Anthony Albanese has passed a New rule where INDIANS do NOT need funding and English proficiency test to Migrate to Australia. Previously only Universities were allowed to Give out COE for Visas. Now Colleges TAFEs might be allowed as well, Remember this is what happened in Canada when College and TAFEs were allowed to give out COE (Confirmation of Enrollment) to International students and they were given visas, and All the Indians in Canada started Fake colleges and TAFEs which were full of INDIAN students, NOW the same will be Happening in Australia.

Take a guess how many more Immigrants will Move and take your jobs and lifes and RISE up the housing prices just because now they can move with NO restrictions. It was over 1 million (INDIANS) when there was restrictions. Now there’s none- maybe 2 Million will move this year? Or 3 Million? Or 5 million? Considering Anthony Albanese needs to secure his Migrations voters because He can’t sceure any Aussie voters.

• And this is coming from an INDIAN migrant, who came to Australia under legal route and by fulfiling all the required paperwork and regulations. Score 9/9 in English proficiency test and Currently working as a Registered Nurse to help the community but WTF if all unskilled people will be moving to Australia this will become a shithole like Canada.

no resources or prior SAT specific studying (especially true for english cause retarded hsc english literature doesn't help for SAT at all partially explaining why I scored as low as an african american for reading and writing)

to get 1260 I didn't require any effort, hence 1260 should be worth way LESS than an 85 atar.
