resp
abdominal- GIT and urinary..
pelvic
knee and joint anatomy
bone anatomy

and
did forearm as an extracirricular..

i still do heaps more in the next 2 yrs..

to wat everyone has sed bout PhD and masters.. one of my old roommates did 2 masters.. in engineering.. and is now doing a 1.5 yrs PhD.. no limit.. just as long as u can do it.. he is 35 tho so yer up to u

im thinkin bout medical education or research as another thing im interested in

BA(Hons) + MBBS + PhD = 10 years

my cousin did Bsc(neuroanatomy) + Med in the UK.. in 6 yrs.. planning on PhD.. u can do it in less if ure capable..in the same period my other cousin just got his fellowship and makes $300k..both teach.. so id prolly say that after 10 yrs.. unless u got a good reason for it.. a PhD will not make ure much difference in ure life....

I'm not saying I want to do it, I just want to know that if I find I'm interested in research I can swing around and get into that career...

I'm at the point where I know I want to do a med degree... but as for after that I have no clue, and whether I should take a gap year and travel /combine with arts/combine with science.... =/
I would really love to do an arts deg.. and I don't mind doing graduate medicine... ahh poverty of students make life harder to consider the slow path...

lolz... probably a nice option... 7.5 years at UNSW with .5 of a year to travel or whatever before internship [heh I'm getting way ahead of myself ]...

But you don't get a decent amnt of arts credit pts... like at UNSW MBBS/Arts is only 64 credit pts in arts or something...

64 is heaps.. ull do wat u enjoy trust me its about 1.5 yrs full time..

yes yes it is.. but my point is that ppl who want to do med need to kno that its a long mofo.. 12-15 yrs to practice without direct supervision..

i thought when you're studying to specialise, you kind of got fellowship experience throughout the whole course

no.. u do it lik a postgrad thing.. lik a masters..
its separate.. u can survive on MBBS and then just stay a resident foreva..

Given that BAHons MBBS is 7.5 years... how difficult would it be to overload it into 7 years...
and say you concurrently did a DipMusic concurrently... would dat be suicidal?

dont you need to kind of "specialise" to become a GP anyway? well alvin, you told me theres a period of "specialisation" regardless of post MBBS.

ok.. here we go..
1) MBBS or BMed (4 - 7 yrs)
2) intern (1 yr) work.. + study to get ure medical licence
3)do residence at a hospital... here u work.... and study lolz.. choosing ure fellowship(2-5 yrs) and studying for it..
4) Sit fellowship exam.. fail.. goto to step 3...
5) do time as a registrar.... till ure 1337 enuf to be a consultant.. (~ 25 yrs)
6) retire... realise u wasted half ure life in an obsession tat started when u were 18..
