Hello everybody! If you hail from the EE2 forums, you should be familiar with this concept but here goes for all of you who dont: this is a thread for you to bitch, whine, and converse about your english woes. This thread is also your support for trials, or big exams, come in and take a load off, or alternatively ask a question. This is also a platform for those who do or have done Ext 1 English to converse and socialise and stimulate discussion. So if you are in year 12 and do Ext 1 or you finished it a previous year, this thread is for *you*. :)
Just a few things: *try to be nice and;
*put your randomness in the one place, if too may of these
threads get made then the mods will clean them up and rightly so
So I suppose I should go first...*stands up and coughs awkwardly* Hi, my username is kami, and I *sob* do EE1, and my teacher has xeroxed the Extension 2 syllabus and made us do that for part of our internals-but in a genre! With a Reflection to boot!

Hi all, I did the RFTG syllabus last year and am also one of your EE1 mods ;) As kami has stated, please please please keep all "light conversation" on here... I'm a pretty good multitasker (at least, I like to think so :p) but dealing with multiple spam posts at once is *not* my idea of a good time.

Conversation starter: Considering that Trials are somewhat close, how is everyone going with your modules? Do you *understand* them yet?

Well, I'm doing Crime Fiction and I think I understand it pretty well, I do need to do more timed writing though...*is having nightmares about sitting in the hsc having written only an intro when the time runs out*

*remembers disliking Proulx last year*

It's one thing to study a text you don't really like all that much... it's another to be forced to study it in-depth :S

if you did as much as i did on marlowe today, you'd hate him too. it's hard to extend a story to 1500 words when you have a perfectly good one at 800.

We have a "We hate Marlowe" group in my class...we come up with arguments over why he is a crappy character to annoy the one guy in the class who is a Marlowe fan, hate is *such* a good motivation for analysis:D

I don't get the idea why we have to write more pages than we really feel that we should... kinda like my EE1 teacher who is thoroughly engrained in the belief we should execute 15 pages. I mean, surely 12-13 HSC pages is enough to cover it in depth with our amount of time...

I do pity you greatly for having to write about Marlowe.. lol

I remember seeing The Big Sleep translated into Italian.. for some weird and wonderful reason, the dubbed voice was just as fast as his lip movement.. not to mention the fact they both sounded English anyway :)

I actually quite liked Marlowe. He was a nice change from Cordelia in The Skull Beneath the Skin.

sounds funny. watching it twice in english was enough for me. i hate watching movies where you can't stop and pause. you can only write down quotes so fast.
