i was wondering if there are any forces at all between base pairs, i know there are hydrogen bonds between the actual bases eg (A-T) and (C-G) but if there are forces between the actual base pairs diagonally please inform me and what that force is called.

no not the bases themselves theyre hydrogen bonds, between the base pairs going down so eg:beentherdunthat said:

these are hydrogen bonds between the complementary bases

lol NO!!! Not like that. They bases connect to each other vertically by the sugar and phosphate groups. No bonds like that
