1. Pollutants that contribute to bad water odour?
Pollutants from industry or agricultural land such as ammonia, phosphates and nitrates. A high concentration of phosphates and/or nitrates may cause eutrophication, which leads to algal bloom and anaerobic decomposition, where H2S, a poisonous and pungent gas is produced.

2. Pollutants that can be responsible for water becoming acidic or alkaline?
Wastes from industry that contain acids or bases, waste water from cleaning products, and acid rain. These substances include NH3, H2CO3 and H2SO4

3. Causes and problems associated wit turbidity?
Clay, silt, plankton, industrial wastes and sewage.

I looked in textbooks but they didn't provide much information on these questions. They only listed the qualitative characteristics of water as odour, colour, etc.

I don't think carbonic acid is the pollutant that is responsible. You might have a hard time isolating it!

Since carbonic acid can't be isolated from water you can hardly pollute water with it. I think you mean carbon dioxide :)

Oh! Oh my god! That makes sense... I don't know why I didn't write CO2.

Turbidity reduces the amount of light reaching photosnythesising plants at the botto of the water way.
- reduces level of dissolved oxygen
- clogs fish gills
- prevent certain egg + larval development

Caused by:
- logging, tree roots hot together soil + soil erosion
- mining
- agricultural stuff (I'm guessing)
- discharges of industrial sewerage + wastes.

Measure with Secci disc, or turbidity tube (these may be the same things...)
