Dear bosers,
I am a current student of macquarie university and have recently
submitting a form to transfer to accounting. However since then i have
changed my mind and want to transfer to the B COMMERCE - FINANCE
degree (FNN06).. i was wondering how i go about changing this, the
same way as i did in changing to accounting...

also does anyone know the right people to go to etc???

I dont think it is even a real "Major". It is just a sequence. Hence i dont think you need to be enrolled in anything but BCom.

well i aint sure either, but yeah thinking want to do applied finance but need to raise gpa a bit..

now looking for the course outline of this degree

i have been accepted through to accounting and it seems as all my subjects wouldn't of been wasted, as all electives etc
however got to sit down i think i will enjoy finance more as i did acst101 and loved it but was hard did accg105 was boring as!! i love shares and investment things, is this the sorta degree which will cover this?

Thats the degree looking at changing to then later going to applied finance, i was wondering if anyone knew the like unit outline eg 100 level units etc..?

the only compulsory unit for BCom Finance is ECON200/201...the rest you can make up so long as its within rules (e.g no more than 30cp worth of 100 level subjects etc.)

You also have to select four from a certain list of 300 level subjects.

I'm doing my degree such that it is exactly the same as AppFin, and Accg (single) degrees, without ACCG323 nor FIN301. What I was trying to achieve was a mesh between the two.

Why not the double degree some may ask?
Well,
1. I'm not too far from getting into it if I wish. Though I'm not too fussed about it neither

2. Extra year or so of studying at mq, at an oppurtunity cost of doing a DFP sponsored by CBA/ postgrad at FINSIA/CFA or whatever.

It's my personal situation that doesn't make the double feasible.

Kutay, you should really look into the double degree, if you can. It is more recognised if you're not thinking of postgrad options.

Ok well i have put my transfer in now, oh k could you give me some tips because thats what i plan on doing, wanna change to applied finance

e.g i will be doing 3 subjects this semester, what 3 subjects would be good to do to get 3 credits in??

i haven't done bba102 or econ111 so there in, need prob a 200 level subject..

BBA102 is not a core for accg nor appfin. It is easy I heard though. GPA booster i guess.

i decided to do econ111 econ141, and acst201.... howevre i forgot about 102 cause u need that if want to be recognised with something dont you???

but i got a problem theres a max of 30 credits points... cnan u do as many 100 as want in my case just some wont count??

why cant you do 4 units in a semester, i think most ppl are fine with it. econ141 in semester 2 is piss easy, acst201 isn't hard, and i dont expect bba102 to be too difficult...

i think i have done 27 so far.. so nervouse i need to do econ 110 111 and 141?? but looks like could only do the one cause would be max 30... hmm in a conudrum

yeah looking over i have done 27 credit points at 100lvl however 2 subjects i got pc's for? i was wondering however i need to do 3 more 100 level units for applied finance degree will i need to go into uni to see academic head to be able to do these ones?
