In the traditional sense of flash-based stick players, where you can just plug it into USB ports directly, it's 1GB.

However the largest in the consumer market which uses flash-based memory is the 4GB iPod Nano.

i reckon the usb flash is alot easier, u can take it anywhere and connect it straight into the computer, instead of having wires and stuff.

It's only 'easier' in the sense that you don't need wires nor software (unless you're using Windows 98).. so that would make it more portable than 'easy'. It's pretty easy to load songs using hard disk based players too, as long as you have the software installed. But the obvious major disadvantage is that you can't carry anywhere near as many songs as a hard disk based player.

Well I know we've got 8GB ones in the consumer market today. A 20GB flash drive, I can't even imagine how expensive that would be.

Yeh I remember reading something like that where Samsung had developed the new RAM chips- the first batch appeared in iPod Nanos- as in where they used this new manufacturing process.

It is. One of them is the Pretec’s iDisk II, already out by the beginning of this year.
