Well seriously, the environment is up to ones own opinion. I think your education is a LOT more important than what the uni looks like. If you want something that looks good, then sure go to USyd, but if you want to get the best current IT degree there is, then come to UTS. The stats show that UTS has the best IT degree, and the best IT facilities.

Sure the rest of UTS may seem a bit stuffy, but the IT Building sure isn't! If you study anything at UTS and don't want a stuffy environment, then IT is the course to do!

Again, its your opinion, but what I have said is what I believe, not being biased or anything.

UTS....

UTS: pros

More Practical course (application to business world)
Best technological facilities
UTS is IT specialist

UTS: cons
No Maths
Building (which i though b4 was ugly...but now ive seen the IT building...i guess id be fine there)
Not so prestigious
Not so big of a name

Usyd: pros

24 credit pts for the area of interest eg accounting
Open grass area
Prestigious
Big name

Usyd: cons
No work experience
More software based
More theory based (less business like/practical)
Not so good technological facilities
Does not specialise in IT facilities

Total
UTS: pros = 6
cons = 3

Usyd: pros= 4
cons = 5

usyd

Well, its gonna be a stupid response... I picked usyd, I liked uts to begin with, but the strict law of parents forbade me. Now, I would so love to go to UTS, although I doubt that I will get it in the late round, as I read in a previous post that the UAI's will be highly inflated (and I don't know if the parentals will allow me anyway) In any case, I guess they'll be paying for my education, on the negative side, I will be the one living it out. My first preference is Design computing at USYD, then Comp Sci at USYD. *sigh* Anyhew! lol, enough wallowing in my own self pity.

Apologies for the huge chunk of writing! :D

Yeah USyd's crap, all the prestige stopped in the 60s. They haven't done anything significant since.
