yeah I also have questions for you UTS students :)

do you regret going to UTS? why?
if you could, would you change to another uni.. say Sydney or UNSW..?
what are the worst/annoying things about UTS?
what are the best things about UTS?

it's the little things that can really irritate me so these things count for me :)
thanks to anyone who can answer them for me.

the answers:

- no. great people, course is pretty cool, etc etc.
- perhaps COFA (which is part of UNSW), to do art history and theory. but i'm pretty happy here. so, i might say no... for now.
- worst stuff: no big lawns or grass! building 1 (big tower thing) is bloody ugly (thankfully i don't have any lectures/classes there)
- best things: err... all the cool people in my course, cool lecturers, it's close to heaps of stuff in the city, close to my place too...

so, ...yeah.

omg pat are you thinking of going to cofa to do art theory .. ? like is that just a whimsical whim or do you really wanna go there, cos im considering changing to that now (either that or design @ cofa).

my answer:
1. yes and no .. yes i regret it cos resources for my course are shit compared to other unis, no because i seem to be having a more enjoyable uni life compared to my other friends

2. (see above) i want to go to cofa.

3. negatives about uts: no grass, everyone smokes so much (at dab), crap resources, ugly tower building (but i also don't have clases there)

4. positive stuff: u form a close knit community so like u get to know people in your course really well, most courses accomodate students who need to work part-time, it's close to lots of stuff in the city.

oh and everone is hot

the only thing I hate is, when outside UTS people think that UTS is only one brown ugly building.

1) no regrets... nothing wrong with it so no need for change

2) if i have to make the choice... prolly USYD because i hate travelling to UNSW

3) worst: ugly buildings (Except 6 and 10), crap uni food (though plenty of choice outside, no swimming pool or tennis courts (wheres the room anyways?), in-uni arcade games center is crap

4) best things: easy to get to, right in the CBD district and close to everything, the buildings are quite close to one another compared to other unis, good teaching and relaxed atmosphere

what is uni lifestyle like? Are there lots of opportunities for social interaction etc? It's just that I heard from some UTS people that there isn't much campus life like at USyd and UNSW.

haha actually it's not, the computer systems always fuck up (well in the DAB anyway) there is always some sort of technological-associated problem. hence the ironing of university of technology..

eh, social life depends on individuals, if you are into socialising then you'll socialise, if you do'nt you don't, etc...

campus life is more like, those people who live in campus.

also note that the other uni's get the internet connection off UTS tower... (the dishes sit at the top of the tower)

The other buildings are like across the road from the tower or on the same block..except for the biz/law bld which is towards the markets area (near market city/paddy's)
