Thats so true. You could be within two points of the UAI you want, miss out and wish that you'd have done the test. I think its a really good scheme.

Apparantly they give all the people that apply for one a practice one...or at least that what the guy from uws told our grade. I think its mostly just general knowledge. Shouldn't be too bad, from what i've heard most people generally do well in it.

My word is gold I want to do communications. The UAIs 70 and i should get over that but you never know what will happen and its better safe than sorry. What about you?

the english language or english the subject. If you suck at it and get a low mark thenit will potentially decrease ur UAI.
BTW, meh to some of you people. If you think 130 bucks is expensive for a entry test, then BAHHAHAHAHAHA to you when you actually get into uni.

I stuffed up the english section severely. I only got a STAT score of 149 and my percentile ranking was about 32%

But I made up for it in the multiple choice. Overall, my RET score was 70.

I would invest in that RET/STAT test. Even if you don't need it, it's still worth it. You don't know what might happen during your HSC exams. I wasn't negative, and you don't need to too, but it's good to be cautious.

where do you live?

i think other unis dont have it so they can be better and only get poeple with good enough UAI's.

No it doesnt lower your UAI, it is a replacement ranking if your UAI is too low, and will only come into play if your UAI is insufficient.

And I think the RET/STAT is out of 200, though I may be wrong...
