I've never had a valentine. However, I don't think v-day is lame. I think it's cool how there's a day dedicated to love (aww how sweet... love), and I think guys should appreciate that a day like this one exists since apparently they are the ones who'd normally forget about anniversaries and all that crap. If they remember v-day, then their partner would forgive and forget about how their man has forgotten about past anniversaries etc.
anniversaries > valentines day

it's one thing when you're all lovey dovey, but seriously, do you need ONE day to show your love for your partner? shouldnt it be everyday?

sure i'm going to spend the day with him (if we can), but it's just another one of those 'hallmark' days imo - an excuse to buy stuff

Thanks for that, but seriously, I would never celebrate love on such a tacky commercialised day.

ive never had a valentine. no wait, i lie. i had one in year 11 from a guy who happened to be like 10 years older than me and actually worked at my school. el freak out!
but is it so much to ask for a flower or two and to spend the evening somewhere nice, and the night together with the person you're dating? that doesnt cost a lot of money, and its not painful (unless your significant other is a real let down in the bedroom). so why not do something like that? its nice. its appreciated. relleh.

How heartbreaking for me, every year at school I used too anticipate that one day a girl would send me a valentine but didn't happen. I sent a card to a girl I liked and I think she figured out it was me then avoided me :p

If I were to celebrate it it would be by surprising her the day before because it's tacky when its expected.

New Yrs Resolution: Get a BF this yr and make it last at least until NEXT february 14th!
Breaking up right before valentines day really sux because then on that day, you see all the couples together and you feel like you are the only single person in this world.

For a guy, is it okay to give a bunch of flowers to a purely platonic friend who you're not in any way attracted to? Or is that going too far?
It would probably give the wrong impression to her, making her think you're attracted to her when you're truly not. Too far would be like giving her an expensive piece of jewelry.
