Yup I've seen it.
The movie reminded me of James Bond.
When he goes to the Vatican City - MI2 headquarters.
Monk dude - Q
Anyway it was quite good I thought too except I could see the 'BOO!' bits a mile off :)

It had great action and I loved the special effects. hehe yeah the monk was awesome... wasn't that guy faramir from LOTR? couldn't be bothered to look up the name now.

I was a bit lost by the story tho... and there were a few plot holes. but it was a good popcorn flick all up :D

they turned a 60 yr old Dutch doctor Van Helsing (in Bram Stoker's dracula) to a 30-ish hugh jackman...i find that amusing enough :p

Yeh I saw it yesterday, thought it was pretty decent. Definitely worth seeing at least once. I was kinda surprised at how advanced Frankensteins mechanisms and brain etc were. Those bride's of Dracula pissed me off though, so much screeching...

Want to see it, but I'll probably go see Troy before I see this film.

It only got one star in the Tele today :(

was one of the most visually beautiful films i've ever seen. i especially liked the opening black and white sequence. though i felt the whole dracula story was pretty thin, they shoulda made the whole into mr hyde. he was a much more interesting villain than dracula

visually stimulating, especially with kate backinsale to perve on but i had other commitments and left half an hour early. faramir was mad -
"i thought monks were allowed to do that..","i'm not actually a monk, i'm a friar", *girl smiles suggestively*

Saw this the other day, it was entertaining but not the best movie around. Hugh Jackman and David Wenham made it worthwhile for me :)

Did anyone else notice the plot similarities between Van Helsing and The Mummy? (same director remember)
i.e.
- Hardcore main character, tough chick and goofy sidekick
- Flashback to start the movie
- The bit where Dracula steps out of the fire...his face looked very much like the half-formed mummy
- A fight between the good and evil girls
- Egor: I'm sure that's the same actor who played Benny!

Just a few things I noticed, hopefully his next movie will be a little more original.
