I have an integration question it uses t formula but i just cant see the t equations for sin and cos

Equivalent to using the suggested substitution, without actually doing it.

By the way, this is not a t-formula question at all.

ahh i see, also so in the 3rd step you manipulated the integral so that it is in respect of d/dx(tanx) allowing you to integrate using the inverse tan formula?

Also note since you are in extension II try doing this without the substitution now. You should not have an adult holding your hand for these questions unless it is an unobvious one.

Agreed. For what I see I wrote that post as an optional challenge for the forum starter. The reason is that in Extension II for mathematics you are not always given the substitution for integrals and as such students will not be overly dependent on a substitution. If that was not the message you received then I will apologise for my post.
