congradulation yenta, at our school people have done the questions for so long about 20 time and got some ratio for an answer !!!!!

the reson they use vertical exaduration is to exadurate topograhpy. to make mountains seem heaps large cos i fthey had no vertical exaduration some cross sections would seem just flat with no detail.

I don't think its fair to put ppl down if they couldn't do it, Russian. ESPECIALLY, if they were never taught how to do it... and alot of ppl weren't! Different teachers and different schools put emphasis on different topics... which isn't really fair - but thats life, eh?!?
Some ppl can't do VE, just like you can't spell exaggeration - we all have our weaknesses... You shouldn't make ppl feel bad about them....
