Hey,
I got 94 in the HSC....

Hmmm you seem to have a few questions... How about you email me what you need to know and i'll get back to you... I loved art theory, the essays etc were pretty good to do... so i can help you out with that i guess, also tips on your prac if you need it. Just let me know what exactly you're after.

ditto. except 92.. i have heaps of essays and notes and stuff like that, except, art theory's heaps broad for the hsc so in the essay question of the hsc exam, you can pretty much learn anything you're interested in and write about it, without even having to talk about stuff you learnt in school. that's what i did mostly, just concentrated on contemporary artists, particularly japanese artists.
oldjian@hotmail.com if you have any q's..

it was probably my favourite subject. here's my advice, for what it's worth:

- study artists whose work you enjoy/like. i was particularly interested in new british art -- damien hirst, tracy emin, marc quinn and the like. see if you can do a case study on artists/movements/themes that you like, and that'll give you a chance to find out more about your area of interest.

- do lots of essays. by the half yearlies (if your school has them -- some don't) or trials you should be able to answer three to five of the essay questions using info from the area you specialise in (but usually one question will fit the bst with your info). i've got a few art resources here (including a list of essay questions from a few years worth of art papers) if that helps. i might put up some more stuff on the resources page of this site later on.

- do stuff you don't have to in class, ie. go to art galleries and exhibitions, read art books (some of them are pretty interesting :)), etc.

- in the exam (or when practising), stick to the prescribed time limits, i.e.
10 minutes for section 1a
15 min for 1b
20 min for 1c
45 min for section 2
you could perhaps give yourself an extra minute or two for one of the first sections, but you're eating into your essay time. also, always keep writing!!! think on the go. if you stop you might take a minute or two to get started.

hmmm that's all i can think of at the moment, you're welcome to pm me if you need anything

I got 85, I didn't think the subject was hard, and the scaling isn't too bad- i don't think pl should worry about scaling too much, as long as u do well in general, u'll get a good uai. I did music and art and i was told i owuld prob go shit, but hey, my uai was about the average of my HSC marks. So don't worry about it.
