Find the volume of the torus with inner radius 3 and outer radius 6.

This was all that was asked in the question. What the hell is a torus? Did they miss out some sort of equation or something?

a torus is like a doughnout, it is formed by rotating a circle around a certain line.
then you can use slicing or shells
i always choose shells when i can. <3 shells

really? Slicing seems pretty easy for simple functions though. What are the advantages of each?

Sometimes one method will give you a much easier integral to evaluate than another. That's why you should know how to use both methods.

You're meant to know both methods, because in the HSC they generally have 2 questions each asking for a different method anyway...
