I dont care at all about either. SAM does nothing for us, they give us a card that gives us a few discounts at some places (generally the discounts we get are more than those given at uni), make that "the word" magazine and... yeah. Thats it. I really dont think things will change that much with SAM gone because they didnt do much in the first place. I can think of better ways to spend the $170 I give them in fees. The builing wont change; food will still be outsourced and we'll have to pay that extra .30 (wow, see the saving we get being members?!
) for our food. The only difference will be that the big, red SAM will be pulled off the building.
Not fussed about conception day either. I dont think its all that its cracked up to be. I'm a fan of JJJ music and similar, but meh. Didnt float my boat in the slightest.
Will be glad not to give the gym money, and the SRC equiv. that we have. They too, do nothing.
The reason other uni's have been more passionate about the whole thing, and wanting to keep uni fees compulsory is because they have student bodies that *do* things! I think thats why a lot of them get defensive when I say that I want VSU because we get next to nothing for our $400 odd a year.
Generally, if VSU is introduced, I will be a happy chappy!
