Well I did pay for the entertainment!

Also in America nearly all those services are run by the universities who compete to get students.

Anyone who takes the actual numbers who protested as a count of the actual numbers who support USU must be extremely stupid. Many people are not of the protesting genre... I assume many people on this board who like VSU would not attend a protest which was pro-VSU.

BTW, Brendon Nelson's personal mobile number is 0419282188, if anyone missed the guys from the Chaser today at the protest.

Are you telling me that 94% of USU supporters (the minimum number for them to break even with VSUers) wouldn't attend a protest even when there's free food, bands and comedians being provided, especially when it's being held on the front lawns of their uni?

On this note I would like those who skipped classes to consider that you do not pay yourself for those classes in their entirity.

You voluntary asked the community to help support you at university through paying a proportion of your course, you then skip classes to go on a rally. Doesn't seem very moral.

But you are a first year and I dont think you are that well informed on many issues anyways.

You are allowed to support VSU. Just don't be an idiot.
Well i think you're not putting forward any sound arguments to anything I say and it just infuriates you to a point where you're reduced almost to the sort of namecalling that whoever "thrushypants" really is has reduced himself to.

edit: AGAIN - I ask you Asquithian, how is it that you expect that the union won't be able to pay for services, when they can afford to run some rather "pointless" clubs, and fund a huge protest campaign against VSU WHILE they provide these services.
Sure you can say "but you only go to uws and u have a small union", but i'm presenting you with arguments and all you choose to say is "YOU HATE PEOPLE WHO CARE ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE! YOU'RE A MONSTER!".

Well you can only go so far bashing people over the heads with arguments.

Every time I see you go on about how great vsu is...ie it has no disadvanatges...when you are at uws, which doesn't have a big union, in your first session at uni ever. It makes we wonder where this 'unions are evil' VSU is the greatest thing comes from. To the extent you mock people who actually CARE about the services unions provides and how unionism does add something to the experience of a number of people who do choose to get invovled in uni life.

I may not get as invovled as some of these people but I'm not selfish enough to take it away from them and the university for a rather nominmal sum.

It doesn't matter anyways. But don't expect people not to insult you if you take such a broken record and laregly ignorant view of the role of unions in universities.
who is taking it away, if u want the service pay for it u tightarses

P.S. What do these fees actually pay for, does anyone know exaclty like does it pay for library's, off-campus access, disability services, photocopier discounts or just unnecessary shit like alcohol discounts, food discounts, etc

I would hardly say that contributed to this argument.
I would also suggest that March 2005 join date is still rather n00bish compared to many regulars.

On the note of VSU, I don't support it, though I know I would cope just fine if it did come into effect. I don't use Manning and Wentorth often anyway.

I'm sick of people at uni who come up to you thinking their opinions are extremely important just because they made it to tertiary education.

The union does do some good things man, the point is however would it be better under vsu? I believe the answer is yes.

My mistake. 2004.

In any case, I stand by the point about "whatever noob" not contributing.

Could someone answer my question on what they do exactly, cause I cant find this info anywhere, it just seems to support "special interest groups" and discounting food and shit like that
