I'm starting to prepare my 'telling the truth' essays for the half yearly's, and wag the dog is one of my ORT's, but i'm not good on film techniques. Did anyone here use 'wag the dog' as an ORT to 'telling the truth'? If anyone can help me with the film techniques used i would be greatful.
Thanks.

Hrm, I can't remember the movie itself..

Just assuming you don't have a clue (I know you do, this is for the benefit of others!), film techniques include:

camera angles
camera movement
where scenes are shot
voiceovers
background music
sound effects
any visual editing of the film (such as black/white)
types of cuts
zooms

etc.

I'm not doing telling the truth but we looked at wag the dog in year 10. The main technique it uses in relation to truth is the juxtaposition between the 'real world' - the world of the spin doctors and the president etc. with the world that is presented to the public through the use of different media texts - news, current affairs, commercials etc.
The real world and the public's view of the world are often presented simultaneously on the mise en scene.
Also look at the use of security footage in the opening, the music, colour, lighting.
I can't really remember that much but I hope it helps.
