yes - you do have to learn the course pretty much all yourself; but it's all easy. If you did a major project, you'll find that you already did most of the things in the syllabus without even realising it.

Just make sure you know all the diagrams (IPO, context, system flow, structure...) and BNF/EBNF - those are the two fiddly things. Also make sure you know how to write pseudocode properly

You'll find that the course sort of repeats itself a lot in different sections - you'll be constantly reading about top down design and social/ethical issues.

Our class has the heinemann text book, but I think it's very poorly written and gives you very useless information. The Excel book is brilliant - gives you everything in enough detail that you can study straight from that.

Another tip: in the exams for each question they always give you a bit of a scenario and then they ask you something about the software syllabus. In your answer - relate the information to the scenario!

Hope this helps - software's a very boring subject but it's also one of the easiest

Yesh! it is true. Teacher can't help much. AND. The test are all Writing skills and creativity. AND if u know how to BS, and u know what u are BSing, U will do great.

NOT for me.
I've workd my ass off, still the same result.
IT is hard. Hard to teach, hard to understand, all u can do is to learn it yourself.

AND THE TIMETABLE FOR SDD IS GHEY!
2pm-5pm.
and i will have a 3U maths test the day after.

Stupid....people and their way of making timetable.
