How many of you are doing the 'typical' case studies (well they seem to be typical anyway), i.e. tourism for an economic activity, and Sydney as a large city? And what are all your others? We're doing pissant case studies because our teacher thought we should be different so that the markers don't get so bored reading our essays. Anyway mine are:

People and Economic Activity
Global ecnomic activity: Dairy farming
Local case study: EMAI dairy farm in Camden

Ecosystems at Risk
Polar Ecosystems in Alaska, and the River Red Gum forests in the Murray-Darling basin.

Urban Places
Large city: Detroit
Country town or suburb: Castle Hill

Anyone doing any of those? If so I'd appreciate it if u wanted to give me any notes :)

actually you don't need case studies for world cities or mega cities, the syllabus doesn't require u to have case studies for world or mega cities, but use the cities you studied as illustrative examples...

no i think you have to know in detals for mega cities.
for every response to challenge i have a megacity and the area in mega city eg housing challenge- Tondo shanty town in Manila. traffic infrostructure - Cairo city. water supply - Orangi area in Karachi and atmospheric pollution - Mexico city. for mega city i have just an examples

My case studies arrre:

eco: G Barrier Reef & Texas sand dunes
large city: sydney
suburb: Victoria Park
global activity: tourism
local: G'land surf camp in Java, Indonesia

With ecosystem case studies, do you talk mainly about ecos in general and refer to case studies or is it mainly on case studies?...did that make sense...

Depends on the question, if it says specifically u need to talk about "TWO ecosystems at risk", u just crap on about your case studies, otherwise, just talk about ecosystems in general using your case studies as examples. I think anyway, that's wat I'd do

I know...prob coz for a lot of the topics since you do case studies, everyone's is different so not many people could actually use your notes...but still...couldn't find much on world + mega cities or ecosystems

I'm doing a few random ones...

People & Economic Activity:
activity - global rice production (anyone else doing this?)
enterprise - a rice farm in leeton

Ecosystems:
polar - antarctica
coral reefs - gbr (how original!)
tropical rainforests - daintree

Urban Places
large city - london
suburb - millwall (near london)

and you don't need specific case studies for megacities.... u just need various examples of each problem eg housing, water etc...

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!!
