Most of the textbooks i have are mine, for english the text books for yr 11 that you can buy are for skills that will be learnt in the prelim course. You wont do well if u dont have more than one text book for each subject because each author has his/her strengths and weakness' and also different views and represent subjects and topics differently thus being biast in some ways thats why u must study from a wide range of resources and text.

However, I disagree with the notion that you can't do well unless you have more than 1 textbook per subject. It helps, for sure, but it is not a necessity to doing well in the subject.

You can do well with just one textbook but u cant just rely on just the one textbook. Im saying that if u put in the effort and study from a number of texts you would probably do better. One girl who came 1st in legal studies at my school a few years back had a Syd Uni, UWS, maquarie and state library card and she used all the resources that she could get her hands on to. Also 4 of my teachers recommended a large number of texts and told me i had to utilize as many as possible to do the best.

Yes, I agree with that. There is an advantage with using all the resources that you can get. What I was saying is that it isn't necessary to get more than one textbook to do well in a subject.
