I am only starting Uni but i want to know what would be my chances of getting employed by a big 4 accounting firm after graduation. Is it hard? You obviously need an Accounting major with a minimum GPA of 3 and extra curriculars but how about the interviews etc. Any help from people already at one of the Big 4 is welcome thanks

In regards to landing a job, a good WAM or GPA is preferred if you haven't finished your degree however, there are other aspects such as communicating and working diligently which are just as important. Some general question interviewers like to ask is generally to do with the workplace/environment. So make sure you have some sort of past scenario which you have encountered and resolved. For example; "if there was an argument between two parties, what should you do, who should you report to? etc etc" Neatly presented, cover all tattoos and hide piercings. Avoid saying "UMM", and know what role/responsibility if you are employed. To score a job whilst in University, sometimes employers like to see your transcript which is a formal and incomplete paper of your subjects which you have completed.

I've been working full time in 2012 after I scored a Cadet and about to start studying at University of Technology, Sydney.
My personal experience, work life is shit. Sure I make money but I'll be working for the rest of my life. I hope 2013 University life will be the bomb!

Seek.com.au best option, if you know someone it would be easier of course. Cadetships generally work like 4 days work/1 day study. So you would have to take Uni part time, if your course allows it of course. Sometimes you can find an accounting firm that work flexible with your Uni timetable. You can look for a cadetship now, or closer to when your degree finishes.
