Im new to Usyd and I see these online study notes that you can purchase.

What are these for? is it necessary to buy it?it looks like its not available for every subject.

More often than not, these course readers tend to have unit material which will be referred to throughout the semester.

Your best bet would be to wait until the first lecture to see whether the lecturer recommends a purchase but considering that the notes are printed by the university, there's a strong possibility that it is recommended.

In online study you find the tutorial for the course and the study data with it that are the study notes normally says that is not necessary for the students. And you don't find these study notes in every course.
