How does ranks count towards your ATAR? It doesn't make sense. I been told that just say if you got 80 in Economics and someone else has got the same mark as you, but they check your English results and that separates you from the other person. T.T"

But yeah, everything that you did in year 12, start to finish, counts towards your ATAR.

Ranks count toward your HSC mark, and only somewhat affect your ATAR in that the UAC uses a raw school assessment mark in their scaling process which is very complicated and I don't even fully understand it.
