it's like a temporary storage area, so when you open a file, then close it, it remains in the system cache, so that next time you open it up it'll open up quicker. A larger cache size means more stuff will be stored in cache.
i dont think it would really matter though, having 1MB of extra cache, just go for whichever is cheaper.

When i see Pentium, i think of VHS tapes, because the Pentium 3 looked like one.
