What do to in uni? Ideas please! (1 Viewer)

So I'm having the hardest time figuring out what my focus is in terms of what course I want to get into..
I know it's ultimately up to me but I would really appreciate some suggestions.

I'm interested in science, particularly biology. I would enjoy working with others and also in the health industry. I wouldn't mind a career in the laboratory either.

Do you have any suggestions of courses that could lead me to working in a field that I described above?

IF NOT: What course are you studying/hoping to study and what career do you wish to pursue?

maybe something in health sciences/nursing/medicine/para-medicine/physio/exercise physiology? there are obviously many more

I am studying engineering and i haven't thought that far yet. maybe an engineer?

Hard to say, there are a number of options you could choose from that fit that description in one way or the other. You've still got a bit of time to look into courses and decide for yourself, but if you reach the stage when you have to decide and you are still not sure, it's probably best to go for the broadest degree you can and hopefully make up your mind of whether you want to transfer into a more specialised course or stay where you are.

In which case, off the top of my head I'd suggest perhaps a Bachelor of Science with majors in Biology and some health related discipline (nutrition, anatomy, physiology etc).

Hmmm yeah. They all sound interesting to me. I think I'm just incredibly indecisive and worried about job opportunities afterwards.

in terms of jobs; it is relatively good for medicine related fields (last i heard). Nurses are getting paid decently but things like physio and radiology it is hard to find a good job.

i thought i was going to do law or economics after an engineering degree but then i thought nah engineering is the way to go

I believe you can change your preferences for the Main Round up until January 7th. I'd do the UAC application as early as you can, and worry about preferences later on.

Do a Bachelor of Science and if u decide later you wanna do health just do a masters degree, they have a masters for heaps of health stuff also if u go that way you will have 2 degrees in 5 years but if u go health straight away it will likely take you 4 years and it will take heaps long if u want to go to science later
