your room has a desk with two chairs, a bed, a wardrobe and a set of shelves.
also: bring a fan, cos usually the first few weeks are pretty hot, and lots of people dont bring them and the stores sell out...
about one in three people have a car at duval

Is there any kitchen facilities that we can use? I mean if I get the munchies can I go and make some pancakes? And with the meals, are they at set times, or can we just turn up whenever and get some food?

ok... heres the deal ( im a littel sdrunk atm) 730am-10am, hot breakie, 730 -1030 - cereal etc.
1200 - 200 lunch
530-7 30inner
on each floor there is a microwave, kettle, and sink, and maybe a toasted sandwich mashice, depening on the floor you are on.
the jcr is fantastic, on weekend it is the place to get pissed, on weekedays it is the place to eat dinner and watch the simspons etc.
duval = awesome

i recommend two, cos there are only two power points in your room, and this year i had my fridge, computer, monitor, speakers, tv, dvd, phone charger and it was nearly all full...
as for internet poker... wot do u mean? you can go to wotever website you like in your room, one fella spent all his downloads on porn
why play internet poker? we usaully have real games of poker every now and again (if you like poker etc. you will love duvegas, the dining hall gets turned into a casino like area and you get duval dollars and then there is an auction at the end

You sound like you have what I have.ie speakers, comp. I don't have the internet put in my room... which really sucks but my parents....They still have claws. They think I don't need it cause of the comp. room.
Duvegas sounds cool. I'll try it, thou I haven't played real poker b4. The internet poker I play is Omaha and Holdem on Partypoker. I have some friends that I chat to through it, to other countries. So mostly I like the chat.

yeah i got it too - i figured i'd miss it... and for $100 it's not bad, plus saves having to walk all the way to the computer room (which would prob. be crowded anyway) just to use the internet... i mean it's in a whole separate building!
