An illegitimate militia army which would do a better job by giving control of its troops and infrastructure to the Lebanese government, so that more diplomatic and reasonable decisions are made based on good policy rather than fanatical Islam, and so that if Lebanon ever were to be invaded the government could present a strong, united front against the threat.

Well isnt that what Sayed Hassan Nasrallah said on September 22 2006, Once the gvt comes to build a just, capable state the issue of the Resistance will not even need a negotiation table..

His defintion of a "just, capable" state is probably one dominated by the shiites.

That wont happen until Hezbollah stops provoking countries in the region to stop bombing the crap out of Lebanon.

Hmm...

I would say that aspects of Hezbollah show it as a legitimiate resistance organisation, but other aspects indicate it, as having elements of an terrorist organisation. Its a blurred line here in this case.

Saying that, i can't really vote either. One choice will contradict the other.

Wow, a lot of people classified it as a legitimate resistance organisation. Gee, thats suprising.

At this point:

11 people say its legit
13 people consider it a terrorist organisation

Just goes to show what people think. I expected 95% of the forum to automatically consider Hezbollah a terrorist organisation.

You have no idea what you're talking about

If they wanted an Islamic state, they wouldve done so by now. They have actually ruled it out, saying it wont happen in a country like Lebanon.

The leader has been quoted as saying that if it has majority support, Lebanon will become an Islamic state.

and then went on to say that it cant happen in a multi confessional country like Lebanon, thus it wont happen.

Anyway, what if an over-whelmimg majority want an Islamic state (wont happen)?

Are you denying them democracy now?

A lot of them do that. Hamas for one and a lot of the South American communist guerilla type armies did similar things.

If an over-whelming majority want it I hope they get it good and hard. Islamic states tend to be one vote, one time deals.
