Tutoring is like extra revision. Most tutors are teachers so your teacher would/should know what they know and they will teach you for free (parents money pays for schooling remember?).

If you already are conciencious and partake in extra revision then a tutor is a waste of money that you could spend on other things like, say alcohole and fine women.

^"...spend on other things like...fine women," do you mean you go to brothels?

Settle down, it was a joke.

Besides I was using two examples that answered the topics question, whether they were to be taken literal or not.

oh yeah... i am thinking of getting tutored for chemistry...should I??????????? I've got the name of tutor off my chem teacher. Except my sister has told me that in her year half her class was tutored by him, so how effective could that really be :s i could just get his "yellow notes' (as she said) off other ppl in my class. I already know of one girl who is probably going to get tutored by him also.

First assess where your ranked in the class and how much effort you put into the subject...do you need it? Is it neceassary? Will it improve my marks?

I suggest trialing it for a term and compare your marks to the rest of the years.

u got his name from ur chem. teacher?? :)
some teachers take offence when u go to a tutor coz they feel that they're not good enough.....obviously not the case with ur teacher. strange, coz i wonder why ur teacher can't tutor guys from ur class (or is that not allowed?)

Lol, probably because in year 12 he gives early morning tutorials and haha would you want to get tutored by your own teacher :s, i don't think that would work out very well plus i'd bet there'd be a few legal technicalities there.

Almost every school will have at least one teacher that offers their service (dont read that the wrong way, sick people) but it is probably only illegal if they charge Im guessing.

A few teachers are actually tutors outside of school, anyways.

i always thought that it was against school policy, but i never knew it was illegal....has anyone been convicted of actually tutoring their own students? (or have students ever been expelled/suspended?)

Well look at it this way...its not like they are going to track down individually each offender and whack them behind bars for consecutive life sentences for teaching people outside the times allocated to their Educational payrates.

It would be nice for some teachers...amongst other occupations but sadly no.

yer u are not alowed to be tutord by a teacher who teachs you, but a teacher can tutor yu if they dont teach u at school.
B4 and after hours 4 struggling students i dont think is tutoring
1) they prob dont get paid (by the students) for it
2) its a program set up through school.

i want a tutor to help me with things i dont understand or need help with and if yu learn somthing 2wice wot id rong with that.
but yu have 2 remember that a tutor isn always the answer and isnt goin 2 help yu improve if yu dont put the effort in.

our school has homework help which isn't tutoring, but teachers go to a classroom and students can ask them questions.
