What does MBBS stands for??

I know it's Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery. But what does MBBS stands for and where is it from?

It could be Latin... similar to LLB for Bachelor of Laws (Lex Legum Baccalaureus).

Yeah it is massively strange, for example a lawyer did Arts/Law, they don't have the title LLBBA, its LLB BA (with a space). It seems that the combined degree goes hand in nahd, obviously a doctor would need to know about medicine to be a surgeon.

I believe it is also because in order to be a doctor, one must hold the two degrees MBBS, whereas a laywer, the two degree (Arts/Law for example) don't necessarily go hand in hand.

It's not massively strange, it's history (and hence tradition). Classical practicioners of Medicine weren't the same as Classical Surgeons, though in recent times (the last few hundred years) there was an expectation to function as both. Now the degree is a single, big program that caters to the diverse requirements of medical practice.
