What good about .rm video file extension (1 Viewer)

i downloaded a video in a .rm format, and it only works on realplayer. is the compression good and is it a popular file format. it was a south park video , but i usually download them in .avi format,, so whats the differnece

RealVideo/RealAudio is are proprietary formats of RealMedia. They are quite popular as they are relatively secure formats. They can both be very good or very bad quality depending on the options used for encoding the file.

yeh i am happy with the quality of this southpark episode. 37mbs for a 21 min cartoon. however south park doesnt require much detail cuase its all single colours and not much detail, so i guess its good for that.
