I been thinking, so many students rely on this UAI predictor service. What if they believe they can easily get a desired mark, but in the end NOT??
What if the predictor is just a piece of crap?

First of all,

In answer to your question about the UAISeeker, I believe that a price is definitely required. It should not be for free. You aren't just paying for the result the UAISeeker produces. You are paying for the time, effort, thought and programming skills that were required to produce the program. If you asked a company "Your game wasn't entertaining, I believe I should not be charged for that game". I'm sure they would say the same thing.

Since no one will know how the 2003 scaling will be like, it makes the UAISeeker not able to predict the exact UAI you will get. It bases its results on the trends from previous years just as how people in this forum predict other peoples UAI. You can even select which year you want a UAI estimation of as it uses offically Boread Of Studies statistics to get its results. When you buy the UAISeeker you should understand that you can't base your entire faith of the HSC onto what a sinlge program says.

But it's clear that the UAISeeker does have its accuracy if the 2003 scaling will be similar to 2002. Have to wait to find out.

Also I want to have a say about the prediction that goes on in here. What they do isn't a UAI prediction.

It is a UAI estimation. It can be either accurate or totally way off. The most experienced people will be able to give a better estimation due to experience from past years but other people can also post what they think.

You are in no obligation to believe what people say in this forum as they are opinions. The way the HSC works makes it so that the scaling will be different every year and thus no one can give any real accurate estimates.

It has been known that this forum is not meant for UAI predictions. We do not want to give predictions nor encourage it at all. But since 90% of the posts have been requests for UAI predictions, it allowed a lot of people to express their opinions of what you will get as a UAI.

The point of this forum is to:

Ask for advice on what subjects they need to work on.

Ask questions on would I be better if I so and so do this.

Ask questions relating to wanting advice on what to do from other fellow and experienced students.

Ask for opinions relating to the HSC/UAI

As said, it's clear that this forum is all based on opinions from other people. And opinions being subjective, means they aren't necessarily true. When you come on this forum and ask for a prediction, you have to understand that no one can be very accurate, only based on previous years experience. I guess you can't call them liars as stated in your thread.

As a last note for everyone.

This forum does NOT encourage UAI predictions. It just so happens that 90% of the posts are predictions. They are subjective and thus the forum cannot be held liable for anyone putting their faith into that prediction.

Yeah, I know. But I want to talk about the UAI predictions that occur here in general.

Theres no way that UAI Seeker should be available for free. You need to consider the time it took to build such a program. I can only start to imagine the hours that would be needed to create such a program. Also Bored of Studies is a non-profitable organisation. If my knowledge is correct they have to pay for data costs and have no main source of income. Whats $14 anyway?
I dont think any student is stupid enough to totally relie on the UAI Seeker and predictions in this forum. In my view most students know that they just have to work to the best of their capabilities and not assume that they can easily get the marks they need to attain. Attitude is one of the most important features of a successful student and a successful student is not stupid enough to say oh I dont need to work in that subject, I only need this mark in it.
The UAI Seeker and this forum provides an accurate prediction, it may not be exactly correct but its pretty close to the mark. I know I find it a great resource and it has helped me considerably.
