crap i remember learning about it before...

from webopedia.com:
(n) A hardware configuration in which devices are connected one to another in a series. The SCSI interface , for example, supports a daisy chain of up to 7 devices.

Say you only had one USB port on your backplane. But you had two USB devices you wanted to use, say a printer and a scanner. By daisy chaining, you can connect say the scanner to the USB port at the back and then connect the printer to the scanner. This is referred to as daisy chaining, and SCSI, depending on the connector type, can support up to 7 or 15 devices together.
