u really have to unless u want a high risk of low atar
doesn't matter if ur obsessed with business studies or agriculture. if ur not getting a 90 mark (which is actually very hard to get given the subjectivity of these subjects) it's literally not worth it.
ud have a higher atar contribution in a good scaling subject such as physics
some people dont want a high atar, some are fine w a 70 ATAR, others are fine w no band 6s
not everyone is the same,
ATAR. IS. JUST. A. NUMBER.
it doesnt mean anything unless you make it mean something, its existance started upon the principle of identifying the capabilites of student in regards for the university degree, if the degree you're interested in requires a 70 ATAR, why would you have the ATAR define who you are?
at the end of the day, it doesnt matter what subjects you chose (whether high scaling or low), or what your ranks and marks are, hell it doesnt even matter what school you get into as long as you dont make it matter
like some people care what others think, while others dont and it's related to what that person defines as 'important'
so yes, some people do want the 'high risk of low atar' not because they're stupid, controversially they are the smart ones for not letting a system get to their head and destroying what they believe in (in most cases: that humanities are low scaling subjects bc they're for stupid people)
