Wuthering Heights. Despite all my best attempts, I could not get my head around this. And the Chocolate War. What a horrible book.

My English Advanced friends didn't finish reading it before the HSC.

Survivors by Zion Ben Jonah,

At least it's free and written on what makes a great substitute for rolling paper.
ahahahaha a crackpot at uni was handing this out to people. i took the one that was shoved into my face and had a flick through. it's hilariously awful. and not just because it's barely veiled christian propaganda, it's just awful writing. i got to about page 3 and chucked it out.

Emma wasn't that bad! i really enjoyed it.

And Wuthering Heights is awesome.

hmmm..bad books...i've heard that The Time Traveller's Wife is really bad, but its in the top 100 A&R List  .....oh and i HATED Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult, it was so bad i stopped after the first chapter, something i've never done before with a book. I'm sure many of you would argue though, as its really popular.

I've heard from a very good source (my mum has excellent taste in books) that The Time Traveller's Wife is excellent.

I haven't read anything really awful lately. :)

Wuthering Heights wasn't too bad, a bit tedious and hard to get around the language sometimes. Had to study that one too.

The Return of the Native was pretty shocking, Thomas Hardy. What a bore.

The prize for worst book ever written, in my opinion, would have to go to Charlotte Bronte for the completely atrocious trite of "Villette". The book is scum and so slow only Satan could have written it.

That said, I really liked Jane Eyre, haha.

You have a bright future if you think that is a "godawfully" bad book.

i have to agree with this actually... i mean, each to their own, sure, but...i wasn't a huge fan of it when i first read it but i could recognise it for the very good writing that it was/is. it's by no means 'godawfully' bad.

maybe the reason for this is that when i looked at this question, i looked at not as a literary work but from my enjoyment. i found it very boring and so for me it was horrible in that regard.
