What is the process for applying to U.S colleges?? (1 Viewer)

Hey guys,

Recently (as in this past year) I have been really looking into applying for American colleges for some sort of engineering, but I am not sure the exact processes I must undertake to do so. I know I should take the SAT exam (even though some schools are test blind), and I am planning to do so in March, so I have a lot of time between now and then to prepare. Also I know this is lowkey kind of late to start the process, but I want to really give it a go.

Other then the SAT, all the other processes/things I need to do are very convoluted so I would appreciate if someone could guide me with what I have to do as a HSC student wanting to study in the U.S. I am going to apply to schools mainly on the west coast or around the nyc area, and I am planning to apply to schools that have some level of prestige and/or are ranked relatively well purely for employment prospects and personal goals.

note: I just started yr 12

check out crimson education if you're really committed, talented and wanna shell out cash, I think they have comps that have scholarships as prizes I think

personally I don't think bachelors in the us is worth it at all (fees, forced to do other courses not relevant to your degree etc) and aus unis like unsw are pretty good for engo if you make the most of it, but masters 100% yeah since theres so many scholarships and a lot of funding and specialised research opportunities out there

I tried crimson but to me it seems like all they care about is money (which I don't have a lot of) so I stopped all contact with them

I do want to move to the US in the near future anyways and probably get a masters, so I think it's better if I just go straight to the US for uni.
I also plan to do some other things on the side of my education, and the best place to do these things is in America.
My only real concern is the cost of attending a US college, but I feel that the potential job opportunities and lifestyle change will outweigh the likely financial burden.
