hi peeps,

can somebody please explain to me this word, and how it may affect the way my response would turn out? say for the 05 HSC Q on module A (i'm doing emma/clueless):

"How has your perception of transformation been illuminated by your comparative study of the prescribed texts?"

in this sense, how should i bring in the "responders" and how their perception been illuminated in my essay? or is it going to be reflected in MY (as a responder of the text) essay anyhow.

as obvious as it may seem to anyone, i'm just confused.

umm you've just confused me more, but i'll try and help you with the question :)

What it is asking is that what have you learnt from these two texts in terms of their values. Its alot more simple than it sounds in the question. Also in terms of the "your" bit, by writing an essay is in one form or another your opinion. You choose to foreground certain aspects of the text, making it your perspective-though as i think you said, where does the "responder" bit come into it. Imagine you are analysing the texts for other people. It is quite likely that when you interpret it your way, people will follow on as well. When you're writing this essay "talk" on behalf of everyone else. ie. use words like ^responder, audience etc. :)

I hope that helps, if not, then PM me :)
