What is the significance of DNA replication?

can someone help me answer that what i got is to vague i think...

... this is what i have so far...
In sexual reproduction half the genetic information from each parent cell is passed to the offspring.
All information for the structure and chemistry of an organism is contained within this sequence of genes.

I didn't do biology, but I think it should be noted that without DNA replication there wouldn't be any chance for natural selection to lead to genetic data gains.

Also allows the body to maintain and repair cells for correct metabolism and functioning.

itsan important process in meiosis, the duplication of sex cells/gametes
the process involves the transferring of genetic information of large quantities therefore allowing the continuity of a species from generation to generation

let the sexual reproduction + mutation do the work... =p

answer as mentioned before, error correction, correct representation of genetic material --> functioning multicellular organism.
