Worrying about what law school is better is like comparing UAIs or trying to work out which version of Pokemon was better. It's a lame debate.

The fact is - Sydney gets the kids with UAIs above 99.55 - or fee payers around that mark. So they start with a considerable advantage. It's like James Ruse or any other selective school for that matter.

Some of you will like Syd, some of you will like UNSW. Or UTS, Macq. Each to their own. Usyd has strong old ties, but they don't get you as far as they used to. Yes, partners went there - but many didn't.

Law firms now realise that to recruit from one uni is silly.

No matter where you go, there will be people from various unis - i work at a "top tier firm" and this is true.

So stop worrying about the name of the uni and get to work on those grades. This a silly topic if I may say so myself. It reeks of first year/yr12 newbie.

In a few years all those lawyers who went to usyd because it was the only uni offering it at the time will no longer be around and all those graduates from uts and maq will be, slowly but surely law is getting wiser, much like how engineering and science people did about 10 years ago.

I know someone who obtained their law degree from UWS and now works for Clayton Utz. Mind you, this girl had a D average across her entire degree. Her best friend graduated the same year from USYD Law and missed out on a position at Clayton Utz because she had a pass average.
that's not a very statistical comparison, monzi.

Are you for real? You'd have to be retarded to choose UTS over USYD/UNSW if you could get HECS for both.

And if you got 99.55+ you wouldn't have a 100k debt, because you'd be on HECS.
The 100k debt comment was directed at the OP who can't get HECS for USYD or UNSW as you would know if you had read the post. And yes, people have chosen UTS Law over USYD. "No" you say, "shocking". Believe what you want, i have first hand knowledge it's true and am only trying to share it with someone who asked.

I didn't say no-one in the history of civilisation has done it. I just said you had to be a retard to do it. Why are you encouraging people to do things that are retarded?

Retarted in your opinion...well ok. You do law how you want to and let him do law how he wants to, and it he comes out second best then so be it. The fact is all you have is your opinion.

Pokemon Yellow was so the best.

It's probably the whole reputation thing after you've graduated. Employers may choose you over someone else who went to UTS given similar qualifications.

Um considering I've actually done law at sydney university, i think i'd know.

ignorant fuckstain.
if you go to USYD you'll be indirectly associated with this level 80 keyboard warrior who sits in the corner of union court with his mac who goes on rampages through student communities during his free lines. so stay in UTS.
