WAHHHHHHHhhhhhh :'(

a) Why did you tell me. You know it'll kill me trying to do it.
b) Why is it in the Euro languages department...?
c) el Nil naHa gameel we taweel khalas. :)
d) Not very helpful if you want to speak to any Arabs, but still... wahhhh. :'(

Might just sit in on it. Along with Akkadian. And Coptic dialects. And Greek. And Hebrew...

I passed first go now thats saying something :p

It's not hard, but just do the tute work consistently. I cannot stress that point enough. It's the toughest of all the 200 levels I've come across (non-acst 200 levels of course)

ACCG201 is the easiest

It has been moved to the Asian Languages section:
In 2008, the Department of Asian Languages will be offering 2 new Arabic language units:

ARB 110 Introductory Arabic A - 2008 Semester One
ARB 111 Introductory Arabic B - 2008 Semester Two

They will consist of 4 x 2 hour classes a week.

For further information, please contact Dr. Mio Bryce. Click on more to view the banner for the course.
Dr Mio Bryce is organising it, from what I understand its still in negotiation for the 'specifics' but it looks like it'll be run primarily by USYD people.

Good - glad it's happening.

I emailed Christie Slade on other matters, and mentioned to her that it needed to be heavily promoted.

Well it's certainly not going to be run by MQ people. :p

Hope it takes off.

'Crunch Catering Services'? 'U Bar'?

Oh dear...Why not just go the whole hog and do 'U-Bend Bar'?

The Windows Explorer-esque popup side tab thingos are a) freaking me out by taking over the screen, and b) annoying to use. Cute 'grouping' but it doesn't seem very intuitive - I actually have to think for a while about what the words might mean. I'd prefer it if it was less cute and a bit more direct and obvious: 'Food and Entertainment' as opposed to 'Food and Drink', 'Sporting Facilities and Information' as opposed to 'Active', for example.

Just noticed the mentoring and GLP thing. Does Sandie know about it? It just reminds me a lot of a study I did for someone recently in regards to what academic support services/files are available. There's a heck of a lot 'hidden' in a lot of MQ sites, often kinda-but-not-really mirroring 'official' pages, and a few of the U@MQ pages give me the same kind of feeling. It's got some information, but not all, you know? Enough to give me a taste but little enough to leave me a bit confused. That's just my initial opinion.

Looks like USYD people are taking over macquarie! I think the new head of dance is from usyd as well.

Fuck it, I'm doing Arabic now as well.

So that's:

* Archaeological Fieldwork (writing a report - hopefully done before semester),
* Ramesside Documents,
* Late Egyptian (if it's on),
* Egypt in the 18th Dynasty,
* German I,
* Arabic I.
