nah the movie conveyed so much more!

like when john barton died. the book didn't really make it such a big deal, Josie just talked about how she cried for days. but the movie had the sad music going and the funeral where the pal bearers walked the coffin through the crowd. it was so effective 'in capturing the sympathies of the audience' (i swear, this statement is everywhere!).

i absolutely love the soundtrack and the simple fact that it captures the australia that i know and have grown up in.

i liked both of them :)
the movie was different to the book so thats why we arnt spose to include it in our tasks, but i thought it was very sad when john died, just because of the funeral and all his friends that turned up to it (i know its only a movie... but still)..... and also cause of the music, but you cant get that outta the book..... hehe.... unless melina marchetta wrote something like [insert sad music here]
hehe

hey guys

for our essays for each module, do you think it's ok to memorise an essay and modify it according to the exam question? or is it a little risky? i don't see how they can modify a question that much...

AOS: michael gow - Away
Module A: img strictly b'room
module B: Briar rose
module C: consumerism - dawe

hmmm.. we didn't get to do looking for alibrandi since we did it in year 9!

i have to say that this english course is so pointless, i can't see how i'll actually gain anything useful out of this!!

Cheers:)

I do Adv.

AOS: Changing Self: Gwen Harwood
Mod A: In The Wild: BNW/BR
Mod B: Critical Study: King Lear
Mod B: Telling The Truth: Frontline

Lear is definitely the hardest, both because its the widest topic (grr...i hate those damn readings), and because teachers are so worried about trying to teach it all that their stress is passed onto us, which doesn't help.

Personally, I liked Bladerunner and I love Frontline as texts so that makes it easy. I found Brave New World less interesting though, and the fact that it comes from a different context adds to the confusion.
