Ok. I currently have 13 units and plan to drop one subject. I desperately want to drop Biology but have been advised to drop General Maths instead because of the scaling.

My half yearly marks/ranks were as follows:

English Ad: 85/100 3/204

Eng Ext: 46/50 1/40

General Maths: 87/100 6/130

PDHPE: 80/100 2/60

Legal Studies: 83/100 1/55

Biology: 77/100 16/112

Modern History: 91/100 1/67

Taking scaling into consideration, would it be better to drop Biology or General Maths? Or, is there another subject I would be better of dropping?

if you want to desperately drop biology then drop it. you're not exactly struggling in anything so it really comes down to what youre interested in and what subjects your willing to apply yourself in for year 12. good luck.

why don't you just do 13 units, but since you're asking to drop one im pretty sure general maths scales lowest out of all your subjects.. goodluck deciding.

well youre doing pretty well in maths, so dont let the thought of shit scaling influence your decision on whether or not to drop it. Tbh all your ranks and marks for each subjects are of a high standard, so if you think you can handle 13 units then by all means keep it. If not then drop the subject which you feel that youre struggling with, regardless as to whether it scales good or bad.

Just drop bio. If you like/are good at gmaths then stick with it because it might do you some good in the HSC. As for scaling - if you do well enough, it shouldn't be that bad. goodluck :)

Drop bio. It's your worse mark.

It depends what you want to do. If your uni course doesn't require any maths, then drop it.

It matters what you want to do, you may find that you need to do maths because maths is required in alot of things
That Mathematics, not General Mathematics.

Well if you take into consideration your marks and ranking, drop Biology.

Don't think you should drop anything , since you are doing sooo well in all of the subjects. I don't think you should drop Maths as GM is common sense and you need it for life anyway.

drop what you want to drop..
just because bio has better scaling doesnt necessarily mean you'll get a better mark~~
although you're doing really well in all your subjects..
probably means you could do better with bio in your hsc.. but who knows?
its up to you.. dont let anyone tell you otherwise..

your results are nuts
you are definitely more of a social science person than a science person
by your marks and ranks, bio is the one to drop, and considering you desparately want to, implying you dont enjoy, then drop bio

as for maths, you shouldnt drop it just because of scaling, and besides your marks and ranks are 87/100; 6/130. thats pretty hectic. if youre worried about scaling then pick up advanced! you appear capable by your results

finally, look into what u want to do after school. maths you sortve need for nearly everything. bio might help for something medical related, but since ur owning legal and modern, the commerce/law/business area might be better for you.

drop bio and keep general math, since you're doing better at gen math. And with the general math scaling, it'll only effect you if you get a crap mark. You're marks for general math are pretty good, so keep going. :)

If you desperately want to drop bio then DROP IT.
