With the exception of the arts and science students...

Seriously guys, me and mates have beenderdundat, its not as glorious as you think it is. In fact some of my friends have started to call commerce total shit cuz they realise they aren't that interested.

In UNSW, people who had the innate desire as kids to tear things apart to examine them, or make letter bombs of various concoctions, will find engineering interesting and rewarding.

Think carefully, think truly

I'm not keen on Commerce because IMO, it's too money driven.

I was opting for Engineering until I realise theres computer aspects to it and I recall doing SDD in yr 11 (thought I had an interest in computers back then) and I hated the documentation aspect but loved the coding.

I don't mind doing Science because I enjoy it but as a career, I'm not too sure.

Do you have any advice or feedback that could possibly help my decision?

Thanks.

Yeah, same here.

The only thing I've considered in the past was BComm (Lib Studies) because it was more open than straight commerce, but lately I'm more turned off from commerce at all; I realise I don't like financials and after reading more into marketing I realise how profit-driven marketing really is.

So I have to think about more arts/science oriented courses...

Some engineering subjects may have simple computing in them. My discipline is a form of engineering, and its not particularly easy, but computing for mining engineers and the like is pretty simple, its not very much like SDD, you do code, but nothing in the name of documentation.

B Science is considered a generalist degree, because you can major in something, but not gain 'true' specialist knowledge like a chemical engineer. However, majors in mathematics can still be looked upon favourably by banks and the lot because they are looking for good mathematicians to help calculate risks. There are also pure math courses available over a simple major in maths

Another example: B Psyc is definitely preferred over B Science Maj psyc

Do a B Science or Advanced Science course, and during the course of your study you should figure which particular field you want to be in, by then you should be one year in, and have the opportunity to make a transfer.

Immanuel Kant, famous philosopher said that free will is self legislated, not based on something trancendental such as God, or your priest, teachers and even your parents.

Not to my knowledge. I'm doing a business degree and if any of our electives are arts subjects, we have to go to Bankstown. :(

Be awesome if some arts subjects were available at the ctown campus though.
