so if your having a pretend online relationship with a close friend would that constitute as cheating if your both just doing it for the fun of it?

I don't think it's the actual physical aspect of cheating that's the problem. If the guy/girl isn't satisfied enough with you that he has to seek pleasure elsewhere (whether it's cyber or physical), then the relationship clearly isn't going anywhere..

Porn is a whole other issue altogether, which i'm not bothered discussing right this instant.. :)

The fun of it. I mean, its not a real relationship anyway...and I suppose it depends on what you think is cheating...is flirting where you draw the line or more? Its all personal qualifications.

hmmm.. you wouldnt call it cheating there is no attraction between you and your friend. Just remember there is a fine line between friendship and anything more than that then you should be fine. :)

Forget that whole "what is really cheating".

If it hurts the relationship, it hurts the relationship, and whether or not you agree that it ought to, if you cared about your partner you'd try and resolve it.

eg. "You seeing your best guy friend hurts our relationship"

Instead of going insane because it's not cheating, you talk it through so its no longer a problem, find some resolution, for example, get your best guy friend and your boyfriend to become good mates.

I mean, when my boyfriend went to a strip club when he and I were 16, I got pretty upset but I couldn't understand why myself. It just hurt, and that was all I knew. He assured me he thought I was beautiful and that strippers are purely body, no personality, and he would not maintain a relationship with them. It sounded so silly, but it was what I wanted reassuring or wanted to hear. Now I don't care if he goes.

That's what Chris and I have. Returns results, rather than endless bickering about whether or not its cheating, or whether it should hurt you or not.

And if that ever stopped, I don't think I could tolerate that.
Oh and infidelity and all that I cannot tolerate.

i think the main thing is dishonesty - and also how "bad" the lying is as well as how often she may lie

- Constantly putting myself and/or family and friends down
- Controlling (clothes, curfews, who I could talk to)
- Never having time for me, but they'll do everything else
- Constant arguing on their behalf
- Dishonesty over larger issues
- Infidelity

Other than everything that's been mentioned here already - A "desperate need" for sex?! Negligence?! Un-"romantic-ness"?! Stingy-ness?!(That's DEFINITELY a no-no) Man I know I'm shallow myself lol - but these usually reflect the absence of intimacy.

Abuse hadn't been mentioned before...prolly 'cos none of us have actually experienced it, or that it's just not closely related to our day-to-day lives. We think more about cheating, vanity etc etc...the more "accessible" forms of "problems".

Let's assume she lied about sleeping with another person, or, she lied to cover up that she was really a man -that's enough for me to end the relationship.
why...you could be assisting her in developing gender issues...

well god i really wasnt prepared for an example...lol...but if you insist

she may BE a man..and you being with her helps her identify with her inner self and shes tossing up whether she wants to stay with you..ie be gay..or maybe turn into true woman and sleep with women...so she'll be a lesbian...

unlikely...but it could happen...

do i have to continue.....

It depends on how much I like/am attracted to them. It defines how much I'm willing to put up with.
Sadly, I put up with a bit too much. I've never been the one to finally end a relationship. But hey, what do I know about relationships? Little to nothing.

I agree. If you liked someone first then they will expect you to put up with them more than they are willing to put up with you. Try not to put up with the person you like too much (I know it's hard) cuz then he/she will not cherish you and take you for granted. I hope your next relationship will be better.

However, why do you push the dot key more than three times? Who cares....
"the dot key"?? you mean the full stop/greater than sign?
-to place a greater emphasis on pause within the sentence...

and you're right! who cares, well clearly you do because you corrected me on punctuation, don't expect to make comments like that and think im going to let them slide.

NOW we can move on:D
